We've had this for a while and decided to sell it. It's the Marvel KISS comic book. Bigger than a comic book, in fact. It's the size of a magazine with as many pages. And it was printed, as you can see at the bottom of the cover, with real KISS blood. I don't know how but that's what they claim.

I went on eBay to discover that not only does it always sell for no less than $50 it often goes for as much as 150-175.

Which is nuts.

So, because you're my LJ friends, and because LJ Garage Sale is proving way easier to manage on my small scale than eBay, I'm selling this for $40, including the cost of shipping. That's less gouge-y, right? It's near mint and in really excellent condition. Comment here or email me at DLelandWhite@aol.com and it's yours.

If I remember correctly, there's an article with photos in the comic (well, I remember it from somewhere) that shows KISS having their blood drawn by a nurse. The blood was then mixed into the ink vats used to print the comic.

I thought this comic was one of the greatest things ever when I was a kid because, not surprisingly, that's what I thought of KISS.

How can you get rid of that gem? I bought that comic in 1989 at Bleeker Bobs on Melrose for $30. It was on display next to a Screwdriver album. I almost bought the Screwdriver album too.

When that first came out, it was my favorite comic book. I read it until it fell apart. I still have the last three pages tucked away in a box because I couldn't bear to throw them away.

I'm really sad that I didn't get home from work to check LJ earlier - that comic meant the world to me, and it is unlikely I'll ever be able to afford a replacement.
