So I wrote this thing about Madonna's movies for MSNBC
Because her directorial debut, "Filth and Wisdom," opens this week in selected markets. Yeah, she made a movie. It stars that guy from Gogol Bordello, the one with the amazing mustache.

So instead of taking the "here's why she sucks" road, I made a list of thing I've really enjoyed about Madonna's movies. Some are serious and some are not quite that.

I loved loved loved Who's That Girl and will defend it to my death. MY DEATH I tells ya! It's insipid, cute, bubbly; her and Dunne make a perfect mixed pair. Favorite scene: when they finally get into the wedding, he's fencing with the father adn she's skipping around and claims "I'm bored" at, like, the most inopportune time. And for some reason I also really like the line "Lowden, exactly what part of Scarsdale are you in?"

I completely agree. I have always defended Who's That Girl as Madonna's one comic masterpiece. Why doesn't she do more comedy? Her movie career might have taken off if she had.

Perfect timing on the Madonna article. Not only a new movie coming this week, but a new divorce too!

I enjoyed your article on Madonna's top 10. I think I was the only other person in the theater with you for "Who's That Girl?"

Die Another Day was so terrible that Madonna was actually GOOD in it.

I LOVED Who's That Girl? We watched it at a slumber party in the 5th or 6th grade and I have loved it ever since. I even sought out the soundtrack for it because I couldn't get "Who's That Girl" and "Causing a Commotion" out of my head for weeks afterwards.

That is the movie that I will consider the greatest Madonna movie. It was so over the top. The tigers! That voice!

I must watch it again!

"Am I the lone human being in the world who laughed while watching this sub-ridiculous, live-action Betty Boop-ish, “Bringing Up Baby” rip-off in its initial theatrical release?"

Did morrocomole like it?

I saw it and thought it was worse than, I dunno, that Dane Cook movie I just saw.

Hey, are you reviewing movies that we can find on-line yet, or what?

Didn't I originally see it with you? I guiltlessly laugh throughout Who's That Girl everytime I see it.

I was thinking it was you, but I wasn't sure. That was late '80s, right?

What about her dominatrixed-up performance in "Four Rooms?" I think she only had a couple of lines, but one of them was about going after a guy's "goop!"
